We’re entering the gorg world of Shan Kerr this week. A creative, a content creator and an incredibly inspiring follow, the 23-year-old Melburnian recently left her full-time gig to pursue her true passions. (We told you she was inspirational).
“I have always been a hugely creative person and have never seemed to be able to sit still - I’m always making something with my hands! I have always loved drawing in particular and find a lot of joy in drawing realistic coloured pencil portraits.”

Top 3 words to describe your personal style:
This is a tough one because I feel like my style is always evolving. I always find myself coming back to elevated, unique and high-quality basics.
I’d say my style is intentional, classic and relaxed (most of the time).
Top 3 ‘outfit definers’:
I cannot leave the house without my gold jewellery! I feel naked otherwise.
I tend to go for simple pieces of clothing and add a pop of colour/bling through accessories.
I love a good backless top and some low-rise, long comfy pants. If I don’t feel comfy, it’s not a good outfit!
Top 3 Reliquia pieces:
The Mitzi Necklace in Pearl is one of the most unique pieces in my jewellery collection - the blue stone contrasts so beautifully with the pearls, and I get so many compliments every time I wear it!
I love pairing it with the Thiago Earrings in Gold.
If I feel like pairing it back, I love the Walker Earrings in Gold/Crystal - they’re the cutest heart-shaped studs with an intricate crystal sun in the centre.
Top 3 morning rituals:
I’ve made a habit of getting outside for 5 minutes first thing to get some morning sun. It’s a great way to set up your circadian rhythm and is such a calming ritual that always puts me in good stead for the rest of the day.
Recently, I’ve been keeping my phone on aeroplane mode until at least an hour after I’ve woken up, and it keeps my mind so calm. It’s such a game-changer.
I also love taking my time and making a matcha exactly how I like it.
It sounds so simple, but putting on a good outfit and my jewellery is also such an important ritual for me - it helps me feel like my best self going into the day.
Top 3 listens/reads/watches:
I’m big into my fantasy books at the moment and just finished the ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) series by Sarah J Maas, which was amazing!
My favourite book that I’ve read recently is Lightlark by Alex Aster.
I also love listening to Process the Podcast by Melbourne-based creative Arielle Thomas – it has some amazing insights into the fashion/content/production/social media space. It’s so easy to listen to and she has such interesting guests on – I always find myself learning so much.
Top 3 Insta accounts:
I love dmdrama (previously depopdrama) - I’ve been selling clothes on Depop for years and some of the conversations on here are either very relatable or just hilariously absurd.
I also love the account Humans of New York for a wholesome story, and diet_prada for interesting coverage of the fashion world.
Top 3 summer hot spots:
I’m happy anywhere near a beach in summer, and never feel like I have to ‘escape’ Melbourne - summer is Melbourne’s prime!
I love heading to ACoffee in Collingwood for an iced matcha, The Camberwell Sunday Market for some thrifting, and Messina for a scoop of pistachio praline ice cream.
Top 3 unwind essentials:
A clean space, a calming playlist and my favourite candle is the holy trio!! I’ve been loving the Ambre scent from the refillable candle brand The Luxuriate recently, and THIS is my go-to unwind playlist.
Top 3 sips and snacks:
I’m notorious for my snack choices, so narrowing it down is not an easy task. At my old job, my nickname was the “snack queen”.
I do love an iced coconut matcha on a warm day. I’ve been making these dark chocolate chip coconut cookies recently that I’m absolutely addicted to. A good cheese board paired with a cold glass of Solitude Estate Chardonnay also never goes amiss.
Top 3 tunes to lift the mood:
I LOVE this question!! At The River by Groove Armada, Drive Me Crazy by Lil Yachty, and Losing You by Solange.
Top 3 not-so-guilty pleasures:
Spilling all my secrets here! I’m a bit of a jewellery hoarder - anything gold and shiny I am magnetised to! Bonus points if the jewellery has a pop of colour.
I also love a good solo date - headphones in and going op shopping, trying a new cafe, reading, and spending the entire day alone.
Another not-so-guilty pleasure is a mushroom pizza and a negroni - very specific, I know! Some of my favourite Melbourne spots for this are Da Bruno’s in Richmond, i Carusi ii in St Kilda, and Falco.
